Hey guys! First of all Happy New Year to all of you who belong to this great Cracked-servers attending, developing community. Smile I should start complimenting on your new, versatile, popular cracked server among us cod 2 players. Many congrats on creating such a wonderful server with so many unofficially designed, great maps regularly added to the server. Smile It's my humble honor i can play on it too, sharing my personal experiences with other fellow players day in day out...

I'm turning my attention to you guys with an interesting idea. Approx. 1 year ago I`d made a discovery, stumbled upon a new cod 2 mod, called the VehiclesMod. It can be simply integrated into the game, giving us players the possibility to drive all kinds of vehicles used in WW2. The following vehicles can be used in game: Jeeps (initially set to 3 per team), Tanks (also set to 3 per team, Airplanes (there is 2 types of airplanes, that can be selected from the weapons menu, 2 different types per team, and last but not least there are AA guns scattered throughout on the map, too (which can be utilized against all kinds of vehicles and regular soldiers too, i think their default number is set to 3 per team too). The number of utilizable vehicles can be simply altered in this mod's server.cfg file. I have just uploaded 2 packed files to mediafire which make up this mod. They can be downloaded from the following links:

1. VehiclesMod (this is the main part of the mod with server and client side files and the needed server.cfg file (i named this one vehicle.cfg just for simplicity to resemble the mod's name)

2. Map Libya (This map is currently the best, suitably designed for VehiclesMod (large map with correctly placed spawnpoints) taking place in Libya in the desert)

I was wondering if you guys, admins would agree to this idea. I was thinking for a while about this, changing server's mod to VehiclesMod temporarily, for couple of days just to see how people would react, opine on new possibilities in the game. I'm certain that there is one other cracked server which has been running empty lately. Since you guys started this wonderful, versatile server, which in my opinion is totally a self-explainable fact looking at the quality of both servers, there is hardly 1-2 players playing on Cracked-All Types server every now and then. My question to you guys:
Could we be able to run this vehiclesmod on your server for a while, just to try it out, gain feedback from players,
collect opinions? Or should we talk to Jaca instead in regards to this mod and set it up on Cracked All-Types server, which has been running totally empty lately? Thanks in advance for hearing me out, best regards from thunderbolt (Ryan), see you guys, bye

Ryan,

First of all, welcome to this forum and our server. I'd like to thank you for your compliments on server, we are really trying to make it fun for everyone. And a Happy New Year to you, too. santa
Secondly, we appreciate you contributing some new ideas, but for now we decided that we will keep this server in admiral mod, as we are having some trouble as it is.
But we will be testing some new maps, so it won't get boring. I hope! Very Happy

Hello!
After something like 6 months that this great server is allive day and night, and after few weeks that i became an admin on vehicles - first i would like to thank very much everyone who made a great job on this!

second i would like to share my experience and opinion that i gathered during playing on vehicles mod:

as most experienced of the active players and have most of game-hours on this mod not only playing but also researching and discovering the potencial of this one single map i can say that even if no changes would be done - as it is its just great! but if only there is some intension in the future and an option to develop this mod - i would like to advise the direction (as user only...)

To Ryan-
About the battle types there was a little miss-understanding between me and cun... but i very apretiate your respond for my request anyway, tnx! its very good - this option of canceling some vehicles. also maybe it is posible to separate the canceling of tanks and jeeps? players want the jeeps stay while planes and tanks are unabled...

But what i ment about the battle types when i talked to cun lately actualy was:
if only it is posible - to randomise flags position and increase distanse between the positions of the two teams - with their vehicles and features, like in every duration the war focus is changing location (because in fact - battles on this map can be fought also far away from the town and on longer range), and the vehicles+features instead of being concentrated in the town would be spread out all over the map in bigger number... ofcourse troops should appear nearly to their vehicles and features... also this mod misses so much for extra features like mortars, 88-ts, MGs - like in other mods: mobile+stable, bazookas and dropping bombs for the planes... Shocked

Because i discovered to myself at least, that this one single map is huge enough to contain an amazing potencial of posibilities to fight realistic and very interesting combats, and the exclusion of this map+mod comparing to all the others is an opportunity to develope strategies (for seriouse players)...
so maybe there is no need of new maps, instead, maybe its better to develop this one - if it is posible...

For example, this is what is going on usualy on this mod when i am there with guys with patience:
we just dont play for the score because it's nonsense to stay in the town while you've been killed every second because of the huge concentration of forses in the town, so we go (with or without enemy's flag) out of the town to strategic high positions that provide an exellent control (view+fire) on the town - the war focus.
anyway, i individualy try to avoid in all costs this dum mess that goes on in the town caused by 6-8 players and sometimes even more, because "the normal" players usualy drive their tanks all over the town and shoot everything that moves before the opponents get their chance to make few steps. some do it even with planes...

because the firepower that this mod provides just requers more space - and we have space - the map is huge! it takes about 3-4 minutes to reach only the first of the two ridges in sun direction from the town with tank...

so, by trying to reach my goal to avoid this and to make it more interesting - i discovered lately an option to create bases to defend, in different locations on this map by bringing there the enemy flag - living the flag over there out of hands - destroying enemy's AA guns while the flag is still there on the ground out of hands (for example on the ridge), then the 2 enemy's AAs follow the flag and reappear on the ridge - then we go there from the town and capturing this position with the enemy's flag in our hands, couple of AAs, tanks and air support and hold this position up to the end of a round - this way i avoid the mess in the town and deny or make it much harder to the other team to get score. actualy we lose some minutes of "play-time" to arrange the base, but instead of the usual fighting in the town over the flags i create another type of the game myself that takes effect on all connected players - if they look for the flag so i make them to come and get it - but then they realize that its not so simple... to find the enemy and to win the battle for returning their flag and only then to get score - this situation requiers patience, thinking and strategy - so some disconnect after they couldnt reach the goal in 2-3 efforts but some others who have patience - they get interested in the whole story: in firing to longer range and spending some time for observing the area - in two words - in dealing with more suffisticated obstacles then usual as in offense so as in defense. so if no one is interested in flag at last we just play "capture and hold position" - where "camping" is no longer a negative but very positive tactik - on this one single but huge map, how else can you observe the area that you suppoused to control?

what i saw, that by increasing the battle range (the on-start distance between opponent forces) - the game becomes much better, more interesting and more joyable.
well, it's my private opinion... but most of active good and serious players of the vehicles mod share this too... by the way, this vision is what i organize the 1-st verindra vehicles team for... it called realistic battles Twisted Evil

what i offer actualy, is an interesting, another, very different but better conception of playing on this mod which i discovered that one single Libya map actualy provides with little imagination!
